Our philosophy

Food and drink should be the business of anticipation, passion and celebration. At The Forester we strive to make sure that your visit encompasses all of these.

There is only one rule at The Forester
And that is to find the freshest produce you can and let it speak for itself – other flavours added only seek to compliment.

At the Forester we are mindful of the sustainability of the fish we buy, and source all our seafood from Devon and Cornish waters with the majority from day boats.

At the Forester, we change our menu daily. The menus below are sample menus only, however, are typical of what will be on offer at The Forester'

Taste Of The Sea Menu

This menu is only available Tuesday - Friday Lunch and Tuesday - Thursday Dinner.

Artisan Cheese Board

The Artisan Cheese board is our selection of the finest artisan cheeses. All made by hand by skilled cheesemakers.

Bar Snacks

A delicious selection of bar snacks and tapas.

"It's always worth the trip to the Forester. Real hospitality from two lovely people who are there all the time running the "pub" just as it should be. I like the fact that it's still a pub but with the advantage of not just great beers and great food but a wine list chosen personally by the Chris and Lizzie who really know their stuff and they are brilliant at selecting wines from their native Australia, I'm always surprised by a new gem they have turned up. I always have a problem choosing where to eat great seafood. The Forester comes out top for me, the fish is amazingly fresh and Chris and his chefs know exactly what to do with it. By far my favourite pub."
